Vila Verde and the Portuguese Territorial Network of Educating Cities (RTPCE)

The Portuguese Territorial Network of Educating Cities (RTPCE) is composed of all Portuguese municipalities that are members of the International Association of Educating Cities (AICE) and has the following central purposes:

• Promote the principles established in the Charter of Educating Cities in municipalities.
• Encourage dialogue and reflection on actions that contribute to the development of these principles, both locally and nationally.
• Strengthen more inclusive, sustainable, and participatory cities.
• Promote education that involves the entire community.

Importance for Vila Verde:

Vila Verde has been part of the Portuguese Territorial Network of Educating Cities (RTPCE) since 2013, actively participating in promoting these principles and contributing to the development of a more inclusive, sustainable, and participatory community. This initiative reinforces the municipality’s commitment to education that involves the entire community.

Thematic Groups

As part of its integration into the Territorial Network of Educating Cities, the Municipality of Vila Verde actively participates in thematic groups and their respective meetings for sharing best practices. Currently, the Education Division has been involved in initiatives promoted by the Thematic Networks, such as:

• Lifelong Learning
• PEL – Local Educational Project
• Inclusive Cities
• Play in the Educating City
