Parenting Programs

The GIF offers parenting programmes for parents and other caregivers, providing support and encouraging positive parenting practices.
At different stages of family life, parents often face a variety of challenges. Acquiring knowledge and developing practical parenting strategies can provide valuable and effective support, helping to strengthen family relationships and enhance parents’ confidence in their parenting skills.
These programmes may be delivered on an individual or group basis, and are available in person, online, or in a blended format.
The Incredible Years Programme is designed for parents and other caregivers of pre-school children (approximately 2½ to 6 or 8 years of age).
The More Family, More Youth Programme is intended for parents and other caregivers of pre-adolescents, adolescents, and young people (approximately 10 to 18 years of age).
The Children in the Middle of Conflict Programme is aimed at parents of children and young people experiencing parental conflict, particularly in situations involving separation or divorce. It is intended for parents who are able to engage in cooperative co-parenting and who wish to reduce conflict for the benefit of their children.

More recently, the GIF has introduced two additional programmes:
– “Mais Família, Mais Criança”, for parents of children aged 3 to 11 years.
– “DROPI – Parentalidade e Vinculação”, for parents of children aged 0 to 6 years.
