The Local Unemployment Integration Program is intended for individuals registered with the Municipal Professional Integration Office (GIP) and the Employment Service, referred by the GIP, and who demonstrate psycho-emotional vulnerability. This project is promoted by the Municipality of Vila Verde, through the Professional Integration Office, and by Social Security, through the Local Integration Center.
The Local Integration Program consists of sessions led by psychologists, directed to groups of 10 individuals who are unemployed and experiencing evident psychological and/or emotional vulnerability, reflecting their unemployment situation. It aims to be a new social intervention methodology, focusing on individual reflection, positive group reinforcement, and the sharing of life situations and emotions.
It is also based on the development of a realistic integration project, reflected upon individually and as a group, aiming to build commitment to action.
Its main objective is to promote the employability of unemployed individuals who are psychologically and emotionally compromised by recovering, preserving, and improving their socio-professional skills. The PLI is based on a logic of capitalizing on existing multidisciplinary synergies locally, providing effective solutions that enhance employability.
It aims to foster contact between the unemployed and others in similar socioeconomic and psycho-emotional situations.
The PLI provides a space for sharing, reflection, and critical thinking, avoiding the risk of isolation, demotivation, and marginalization through ongoing contact with the job market.
