The “16th-Century Fair – Sá de Miranda through the Lands of Vila Verde” is a biennial event organized by the Municipality, in collaboration with the educational institutions of the region.
Sword fights and poetry recitations, live music, street theatre, dance, crafts, parades, gastronomy, weapon demonstrations, exhibitions, and historical performances are part of this event, which serves as an opportunity to deepen knowledge about the history of the municipality and the country.
Inspired by the life and legacy of the poet Sá de Miranda in Ribeira do Neiva, the 16th-Century Fair takes place in May, in a fair/exhibition setting recreated to evoke the Renaissance period. It features the participation of artisans, merchants, and gastronomy specialists whose products and displays bring the era to life.
