Resource and Waste Management

Waste management in Vila Verde is organized to reduce environmental impact, valorize recyclable materials, and promote circular economy practices. The municipality provides recycling points for glass, paper, and packaging, as well as a collection system for mixed waste and bio-waste, covering all parishes.

The collected bio-waste is converted into natural compost or biogas, helping to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and encouraging the efficient use of resources.

Furthermore, oil collection points have been installed on the streets, allowing citizens to deposit used cooking oil at any time, which is then collected efficiently.
