The investment in sustainable mobility is an unavoidable strategic direction in a local development policy that prioritizes the improvement of people’s quality of life and the preservation of environmental balance, thus contributing to decarbonization and combating the negative effects of climate change.
In the municipality of Vila Verde, this investment has been made through the construction of bike lanes, trails, and pedestrian paths, as well as sections of the Ecovia do Cávado, and now with the creation of the electric shared bike system “BikeAmor.”
The operationalization of this system caters, on one hand, to those users who may use this mode of transport relatively regularly, for commuting to work or study, for example, which implies a certain degree of loyalty; on the other hand, it caters to users who use this mode of transport occasionally, namely visitors and tourists, where the concept of loyalty does not emerge.

Registration methods
Area of use and location of the docks
You should go to a bike with a green light and use the BikeAmor card or app to unlock it.
You have 30 seconds to remove the bike after unlocking it.
For registered users, it is 1 hour, and for non-registered users, it is 2 hours.
You should go to an available dock (with a green light) and lock the bike in place.
You must register on the app and make a deposit of €75 via credit card.

• Pay attention to others.
• We recommend wearing a helmet.
• Check the bike before using it.
• Adjust the saddle height.
• Use the right-hand grip to adjust the gears.
• Adjust the assistance levels using the control buttons..
Go to a Docking and Charging Station.
Select a bike with a green indicator (available bike). If it shows a red indicator, the bike is unavailable.
After the sound signal, you have 30 seconds to pick up the bike (if you notice any issue, you have 5 minutes to swap the bike).
Go to a Docking and Charging Station.
Select an available dock and lock the bike in place. Once the sound signal stops, the bike is securely docked.
