The Linen Museum is the result of a partnership between the Municipality of Vila Verde, the Union of Parishes of Marrancos and Arcozelo, and the Marrancos Recreational and Cultural Association. It is a convergence of interests and intentions aimed at providing the municipality with infrastructure that contributes to its cultural and tourist promotion within a regional context.
Visiting this space allows one to view the various work tools and the pieces crafted from linen, along with their strong symbolism, tracing the multiple stages that linen goes through—from sowing to the loom. This constitutes a very important cultural legacy, a testimony to our national identity and collective memory, which we must preserve and value.
Moreover, the Linen Museum is an expression of homage to all those who dedicated themselves to this valuable craft and to those who, even today, strive for its survival, allowing this precious Cultural Heritage to enrich our lives and existence.
