Location: Cervães, Lugar do Castelo
Typology: Manor House / Civil Architecture
Classification: In the process of classification
Construction Date: 16th century (conjectural)
Main Features:
Rectangular-plan manor house integrated into the typology of the so-called casa-torre, featuring a 16th-century tower and an adjoining 18th-century residential wing. It includes a Baroque chapel located next to the property’s wall.
The tower stands as an exceptional testimony both to the civil adaptation of military architecture from the late Middle Ages and to the evolutionary process of the Minho region’s rural noble house. The residential wing is characterised by simpler lines compared with the tower.
