The social tariff aims to provide free water consumption and reduce the water and urban solid waste disposal fees for needy families.

The social tariff is intended for households in the municipality of Vila Verde who, through a written request, request and demonstrate that they meet all of the following requirements and conditions:

1. Residents of the municipality of Vila Verde;
2. Have a monthly per capita income equal to or less than 25% of the IAS (Social Support Index);
3. Do not own any real estate, with foreclosures on the urban building where they live;
4. Do not have any debts to the Municipality of Vila Verde;
5. No penalties imposed by other entities due to non-compliance with integration agreements;
6. The professional status of the household members.

The large family tariff applies to end-users whose household size exceeds five members.

The large family tariff consists of expanding the water consumption tier as follows:

• Household with six or seven members – 1st tier: 0 – 9 m3;
• Household with eight or nine members – 1st tier: 0 – 12 m3;
• Household with ten or more members – 1st tier: 0 – 15 m3.
